The Mood Chair is a piece of interactive furniture that changes colour in response to the colours that its sensors perceive from the environment and the users. Interactive furniture technically consists of partially translucent units, with LEDs, embedded micro-chips and appropriate sensors.

AirXY: From Immaterial to Rematerial combines real time visualization, sensors, light and sound. Large-scale screen and floor projections confront and engage visitors passing through the massive space. The screen is a clock and responsive real time capture of the presence of visitors while the floor projection gradually reveals a fleeting, ethereal architecture.

Tower of Winds: Lighting system is modified by the intensity and direction of various light sources on the basis of natural light, weather conditions, wind speed and external noise.

Metabolic Media: Biomimetic architecture modeled on molecular structures and metabolism in living cells

Carbon T.A.P. (Tunnel Algae Park) is a new type of green infrastructure deployed at urban locations comprising concentrated sources of CO2 production. It utilizes an industrial scale algal agriculture to sequester and consume greenhouse gas emissions, while simultaneously creating a new economic resource through the production of oxygen, biofuels, bioplastics, nutraceuticals and/or agricultural feeds.

Hydro-Genic City, 2020 aims to expose and provoke a new relationship to waterworks. Climate change disrupts the annual water flow cycle while population growth and economic development impose growing demands on a shrinking water supply. This project envisions a decentralized network of environmentally friendly and aesthetically compelling wastewater reclamation centers.

Actions explores how everyday human efforts can instigate positive change in contemporary cities. Activities such as gardening, recycling, playing, and walking are pushed beyond their usual definition.

Mapping Istanbul presents an initial effort to map the city of Istanbul, a city steeped in complexity. The book’s design presents this information in an accessible, narrative sequence, creating a valuable resource for architects, planners, and policy-makers invested in the city’s future.
